Hats!

"Flapper" Hats

flapper hat  flapper hat
flapper hat flapper hat

The pattern was found through Crochet Pattern Central and the yarn is cotton crochet yarn.

Hats like this are so fun. They're light enough to wear in the summer and I think they look really cute too. They're pretty easy to make, just make sure to mark the beginning of the round otherwise it gets really confusing really fast! :) I added the flower of my own design to the violet one after seeing something similar on Etsy.

Other Hats

snow hat  snow hat

The pattern is loosely based on Lion Brand Earflap Hat and I'm unsure of what yarn I used..
This is a hat Chuck requested but then changed his mind about afterward :P I think its a fun hat and the earflaps help keep the face warm in the winter winds.

steeler hat  steeler hat

Pattern written by me, yarn used was random.
Another hat for Chuck. He wanted a fun Steelers hat, though now seems to think this one's a bit *too* crazy. :P He bought an iron-on Steelers patch and attached that to make it even more Steelers-tastic!

steeler hat  steeler hat

Pattern is Knitty's Tychus, yarn used was some superwash wool from Knit One.
*Another* Steelers hat for Chuck. I really liked this one but for some reason he wasn't super crazy about it either :P Something tells me I shouldn't make hats for Chuck anymore...

cloche  cloche

Pattern is Lion Brand Flowered Cloche, yarn used was Lion Brand Homespun in Hepplewhite with a Candy Apple accent.
I fell in love with this hat the second I saw the pattern. The colors they used didn't appeal to me so I brought out the Danish heritage and made it white with a red flower. I think its just adorable :) My mom and sister have ones just like it too so we can all match with our Danish Power!!

floppy hat  floppy hat

Pattern is written by me, yarn used was Paton's Classic Merino Wool in Dark Grey.
Chuck wanted a floppy hat for Halloween, something similar to what Gandalf wore in Lord of the Rings, but less pointy. So I tried to make one. Not only did it shrink a TON in felting (it was even too small for me!) but the brim got all loopy. The hat was super cute so I made a matching "ribbon" and bow and gave it to a friend. I'm glad it found a home--too bad I couldn't wear it!

Beth's hat  Beth's hat

Pattern is from Knitty, yarn used was Lion Brand Lion Wool in Winter White, Pumpkin, and Ebony.
Fred was secretly knitting a scarf for his girlfriend Beth for her birthday. I thought that was so awesome that I decided to make her a matching hat to go with it. :) Obviously I modified the colors, and I had to skew the pattern a bit to suit the thicker yarn that I used, but it turned out pretty good. Really comfy, and Beth loves her new matching hat/scarf set :)

Jayne Steeler's hat  Jayne Steeler's hat

Pattern is written by someone on the internet, yarn used was Bernat Softee Chunky in White, Black, and True Yellow.
A friend really wanted a Jayne Cobb style hat from Firefly but in Steeler's colors. So I made one! It was really easy, super fast, and that yarn is like heaven! so thick and soft! Dean seems to like his hat too, as you can see :)
